Hullo everyone, thanks for looking into my profile.

I am 70 yrs of age.  Grew up in the "d" stream, which I equate to the "dunce" stream, to scared of everyone else in the class to ask questions, therefore I did not really progress or excel in anything.

Most of my working life of 45 yrs was spent in medical radiography, so I sort of caught up a little.  Not the best radiographer in the world, but the job I did I reckon it was the best I could do and it was enjoyable, having a skill.

Now my biggest interest is in ecology and alternative energy/technology.  It's something to focus on which has potential to benefit the planet earth and its human/non-human population.

I got involved with the christian church early in life, first in a high anglical church, with all the pomp and dressing up; candles, incense, etc.  Late I joined the evangelical groups, hallelujahs, etc., and they convinced me I was a Born Again.  But then my homosexual nature became apparent to me (had no idea about such things before this), and quickly got to know that one could not be christian and "queer" at the same time.  There was only one thing I could change - the christian bit.  The other bit is the real part of me and I have no wish, or ability, to change it.  Fait accompli.

My experiences with various modes of meditation, like Muktananda's path, Vipassana; etc., have opened my mind to so many other possible ways of thinking.  The awareness which is the focus of Buddhism I feel is also totally in keeping with the teachings of Jesus.  The message of both these prominent beings have been misconstrued and twisted by ego.  However, I warm to individuals who are honestly seeking deeper meaning for their own lives, by whichever way they find appropriate.

I get angry at those who try to be superior over others, because maybe I do this myself sometimes,... it's a reflection of myself.  Path to awareness?
